I am a divorced with children, my ex doesn’t like my dates and it is affecting all of us, I didn’t get myself in this mess, difficult to parent alone, how should I handle the situation? more

Question: I have emotional anger toward my ex because of his relationship with our children, our friends, and my relatives. What can I do?

Response: Divorce affect more than just the couple. Children, close relatives and friends also experience the pain of loss. Friends may try to remain intact with both sides until it is clear which one wants to continue the relationship. Time solves this issue as you and your ex's lives change. Relatives may remain friendly because they want to be respectful to the children.  Children may toss emotionally back and forth between you two with an array of feelings. Safety issues aside children need a relationship with both parents. Also, counseling to manage anger, hurt, and rejection would be beneficial.
